Meet the Duchess of Doug Moments...

Hey, the week isn’t over yet: two down and one more to go in order to meet my 3 post per week goal. I still have tomorrow (and all day today) to post another!

I’m pitiful. I don’t deny it…I’m a queen when it comes to procrastination. Well, really it’s more like I would rather sleep when I’m tired than try to make my fingers type out the jumble of nonsense that gathers in my gray matter. Honestly, it’s scary up there sometimes. Pretty certain that I meant it when I said I had many “squirrel/Doug moments” in the About Me section! Maybe I should be called the Duchess of Doug Moments!

Its ok…I’m just fine with that – I embrace it. (Alright, it drives me nuts, but it is who I am and changing at this stage in life would just be too much of a painful effort. Alas, I will just be me and embrace the last minute!)

In light of the last minute/procrastination embrace, I thought that I would quickly write about my unrealistic “To Do List”.

I am certain I’m not the only person who has those types of lists. I mean, don’t most people go to bed on a Friday night starting a list in their head, and then wake up on Saturday morning chomping at the bit to put it down on paper?

No? Are you sure? I’m going to choose to believe (in my own little world) that I am not in the minority on this. Won’t you join me…we have coffee!?

yes...he grass needs to be mowed - another thing for the list perhaps? Oh wait, that is on the Rocket Scientist's list!

At least I have learned to understand that I won’t get most of my list completed in the time I have dreamily laid out for myself, but I don’t let that define me (most days). For example, as I write this post I am sitting on the back patio (nothing like the desert after a monsoon rain) listening to the hummingbirds flit around and think that I could be getting busy on my list right this very minute. However, sometimes you just have to take a moment to actually be in the moment. I’ve learned that breathing slow, enjoying a little nature and not rushing in to my list usually prepares me to be a little more productive.

All of that being said…I will air my ugly to do list with you (I mean seriously, it is sort of like admitting that you have a pair of Granny panties in the deep, dark recesses of your lingerie drawer…which I don’t think I have – but I haven’t cleaned that drawer in a while – so who knows!?). And yes, I would like to do all of this by the time I lay my head on the pillow tomorrow night!

Yeah…even as I’m looking at that list, I know full well if I get ¼ of it done I will be a lucky girl. However, it is 7:11am and I gave myself until 7:30am to write a post, do a little Pinning and drink my coffee. So, by my calculations, I’m already ahead of the game a little bit…right?

Please tell me I’m not the only person who does this? Oh, and that I’m not the only one who will get distracted, do something that isn’t on this list, then write that something on the list so that I can cross it off as completed!??
